Making A Difference Scholarship open for applications from high school seniors

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (October 8, 2025) – Piedmont Federal Bank is now accepting applications for its annual Making A Difference Scholarship, which includes two $1,000 scholarships to high school seniors who plan on attending a private or public college or university.

Piedmont Federal Bank offers these scholarships out of a belief that helping students achieve their dreams of higher education is of the utmost importance.

The scholarships are awarded to the candidates who best demonstrate achievement and high standards in academics, character, leadership, citizenship and involvement in school and community activities.

To apply for the scholarships, students must meet the following criteria:

  • must be a senior in high school
  • must be a Piedmont Federal Bank customer or a dependent of a current Piedmont Federal Bank client
  • must plan to attend a private or public college or university, two or four year
  • must have a cumulative high school grade point average of 3.0 on a four-point scale
  • must demonstrate achievement and high standards in academics, character, leadership, citizenship, and involvement in school and/or community activities

Applicants will be evaluated by a Piedmont Federal Bank Scholarship Selection Committee based on the following criteria: demonstrated academic ability, demonstrated writing ability, school activities and community activities.
