Piedmont Federal movie event supports Senior Services

PIEDMONT FEDERAL AND MARKETPLACE CINEMAS SPONSOR HOLIDAY MOVIE SHOWINGS
Winston-Salem, NC – December 9, 2019 – Piedmont Federal Savings Bank and Marketplace Cinemas teamed up to benefit Senior Services on Saturday, December 7th, with free showings of the holiday classic, It’s a Wonderful Life, the animated film, Abominable, and the UK hit, Downton Abbey. Attendees brought canned food donations to support Senior Services and the organization’s extensive work in Winston-Salem with programs such as Meals on Wheels, Senior Lunch Program, and Living -at-Home.
The movie event at Marketplace Cinemas kicked off with fun for families including character face painting, balloon artists, and free concessions. The string quartet, Summit Strings, provided holiday music throughout the event. The general manager of the theatre, Daniel Kleeberg, made cotton candy outside the theatre with kids of all ages enjoying the free movie favorite. “This was a great opportunity to partner with Piedmont Federal to support Senior Services and do something special for the community,” explained Daniel Kleeberg of Marketplace Cinemas. Kleeberg also manages the Liberty Theatre in North Wilkesboro where free movie showings in partnership with Piedmont Federal to support charities have become a tradition over the past seven years.
“We were so excited to see the community come out to enjoy the movies and donate to Senior Services,” commented Ginger Salt, Senior Vice President – CMO, Piedmont Federal. “Senior Services helps older adults remain at home as long as possible living with dignity; a noble mission we are honored to support.” Individuals who cannot afford to pay for programs provided by Senior Services receive assistance through philanthropic contributions, available public funds, and events such as the movie day sponsored by Piedmont Federal and Marketplace Cinemas.
